A FIVE STAR PROGRAM IN VERMONT'S STEP-AHEAD RECONGNITION SYSTEM (STARS)
Tuition
Most of our tuition is based on the rate of $8/hour. However, the tuition for those in our Jr Tenderfoot classroom is based on the rate of $10/hour. Your tuition is based on your reserved schedule and our calendar. You are not charged for any scheduled closed days.
Charges begin no later than 8am and accumulate with the passing of every half hour. Tuition for the School Year session is payable in
10 equal monthly payments, due the 1st of each month from Aug thru May. Tuition for any Vacation Camp days reserved is rolled into
your monthly School Year session payments. Tuition for the Summer session is payable in 2 equal monthly payments,
due the 1st of June and July. For those who begin a session once it has started, the tuition is prorated.

Financial Assistance
STATE SUBSIDY
We accept subsidy payments on your behalf through the state. If you have an accepted service need, the amount you receive will
depend upon your household income, family size, and scheduling needs. See specific information on the following website. https://dcf.vermont.gov/benefits/ccfap
As an example, currently, a family of 4 can make up to $179,400/year and still qualify for some sort of assistance.
(Note: Even though the state may say you owe a copayment, once everything is taken into account,
families usually owe us nothing or an amount that's significantly less than the state's listed copayment.)

FREE PRESCHOOL HOURS FOR 3 & 4-YEAR-OLDS
We are pre-qualified through the state of Vermont to provide all 3 & 4-year-olds with 10 free hours of preschool per week for 35 weeks during the school year session. This will cover 2 days per week from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We also have an agreement with the T&G and Winhall school districts to cover the majority of an additional 10 hours/week for
35 weeks for all of their 4-year-olds. (It currently covers $7.35/hour for these hours.)
This can be scheduled as 3 days/week from 8am to 2:45pm.

DORSET SCHOLARSHIPS
If you are a Dorset resident and you make less than $60k/year, your preschooler will qualify for a $300 scholarship from
the town to be used towards our summer session tuition or our swim lessons.
A simple one-page application can be found at the town office, on the town's website, or here at LSYC.
There is also a 20% reimbursement plan available for families who earn more than $60k/year,
not to exceed $150/preschooler per summer.
The town of Dorset will also cover $10/swim lesson for all of its residents.
