Classrooms

Our classrooms are clean, bright, cheerful, organized, welcoming, and abounding with age-appropriate materials which are easily accessible for the children. 
Young children are active learners who need plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning experiences in a safe and nurturing environment where free exploration is encouraged. 

This, in turn, provides much sensory stimulation and builds confidence and self-esteem.  (Air conditioning also keeps the children comfortable and happy in the summer!)

​ PRE-K CLASSROOMS

Our Jr Pre-K classroom welcomes children between the ages of 32 months to 3 years old. ​

Our Sr Pre-K classroom welcomes children between the ages of 3-5 years old. ​​

Our Pre-K classrooms have many activity centers available daily, each offering a wide variety of materials for independent, child-initiated, hands-on learning.

Materials in each center are rotated weekly, with some favorites always being available. The art & writing center includes an easel and a table for painting, drawing,

cutting, etc., with a wide variety of materials available. The sensory areas include a water table, a sand table, and a play dough table, all offering rotating materials for activities.

The dramatic play area includes kitchen items and accessories, dress-up clothes, a puppet theater, etc. We also offer a variety of theme or interest-related arrangements

in the dramatic play area, such as an igloo, a castle, pirate ship, dentist/doctor/vet's office, grocery store, restaurant, pizza parlor, beauty salon, a tent, etc.

The possibilities are endless! The block area includes a wide variety of blocks and additional toys to expand the imaginative possibilities.

The science table provides various weekly science explorations. The listening area offers books on tape, music, or other listening activities.

We also have an abundance of books easily accessible in many of our centers. Our extensive table toys include puzzles and many manipulatives. Our giant LEGO bag is always a class favorite.

In our gross motor area you will find the preschoolers balancing on balancing boards, jumping on a trampoline, pedaling a child-sized stationary bike, rowing a child-sized rowing machine,

walking a balance beam, etc.  There's always something different to enjoy each week!

TENDERFOOT CLASSROOMS

Our Sr Tenderfoot classroom welcomes children between the ages of 18 to 35 months.

Our Jr Tenderfoot classroom welcomes children between the ages of 6 weeks to 18 months.​​

Our Tenderfoots have access to a wide variety of toys to encourage their development in the cognitive, social, emotional, linguistic, musical, and physical realms.

This includes an easel, a play dough table, an art table, manipulatives, a listening center, a sensory table, a block area, various rhythm instruments, a gross motor area, a kitchen area

with dress-up, etc. Materials in these areas are changed weekly. They are also provided with the daily opportunity to use and explore a wide variety of art materials

under close supervision through varied projects.  ​

One of these classrooms offers a comforting home-like environment with a complete kitchen (perfect surroundings for this age);

the other offers a cozy playroom type of environment.
